Challenging academics and intentional connections across subjects make PHCSE a terrific place to prepare for a smooth transition into the rigors of high school.
Keeping with the Pennsylvania Core Curriculum of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, we incorporate basic economic and entrepreneurial concepts across subjects through rigorous and contextualized lessons.
Our teachers get to know their students in smaller class sizes with a 12:1 student-teacher ratio. Without the pressure of crowded classrooms, students are more comfortable asking for help and pursuing their curiosity.
PHCSE inspires students to become self-motivated, competent, lifelong learners. Every student has a personalized plan designed to meet their needs and support their passions.
A nurturing environment of trust and respect is the best predictor of good academic and personal outcomes. Students learn to work together and communicate effectively as a team, preparing them for the future of highly collaborative work environments.
By enrolling your child with us, you become part of a community dedicated to cultivating innovative, productive, and responsible citizens. Everyone is a decision-maker at PHCSE and that means all students are given opportunities to develop and use their talents and be held responsible for their learning gains.
We love watching them soar to success!
Read. Memorize. Test. Forget...No thanks!
Being able to touch, see, and experience something is simply more powerful than just reading about it or hearing someone talk about it. In active learning, stronger connections are formed and knowledge is retained because it has authentic meaning.
Students tied together research skills, biology, and activism as they researched endangered animals. Learners created an “app” to educate their peers on what can be done to help the endangered species!
Students in robotics and coding built drones from a kit. They puzzled out ways to troubleshoot flight issues and coded the drone commands. Learners competed in a challenge course and flew a professional drone.
The kindergarten science class learned about butterflies and their life cycle. Students had a hands-on experience as they watched our caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies.
